A Look Back at 2017

2017 has brought a lot of changes for our firm. We’ve moved, completed projects and taken on new responsibilities. You’ll find some of our favorite highlights below. This year, we:

Celebrated our move. We purchased a building in Downtown Olathe and spent months renovating it. The redesigned space is a reflection of where we are now and where we are going.

Added value to an office park. We worked with Cloverleaf Office Park to create outdoor spaces for their tenants that featured items like a kitchen, firepit and ping pong table.

Joined the board. Supporting licensure for our profession has been important to us for years. As a natural extension of that, Carisa McMullen was named as a member of the Committee on Nominations for the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Board this fall.

Continued traditions. Once again, we participated in Alley Rally, transforming a typical alley into a place where people would like to spend time during Johnson County’s Old Settlers Event.

Charretted. A lot. This photo shows us working with Jefferson City Parks, Recreation and Forestry team on their master plan.

Connected with the community. Rachel participated in Explore Design with the Center for Architecture and Design this summer.

Made it into the news. Shannon’s work on Hyde Park in St. Joseph, Missouri received some media coverage. You can read about the project here.

Gave back. This Christmas, we shopped for presents for two, middle school students in foster care supported through KVC. We found gifts for a girl age 10 and a boy age 12. Some of the items included a CD player, a soccer ball, a One Direction CD, Twilight movies and earbuds. We also included a couple of clothing items. In addition to all the work we accomplished, we also had some fun! Rachel and Mitch took a ride in a fire truck bucket to see the view that will exist after the tower in McClung Park in Jefferson City, Missouri is complete.

We wrapped up some great projects in 2017 and are excited to share new ones with you as they finish up throughout the year. Next year, look for details on:
