Joel Weikert Joins Our Team!

Joel Weikert joins the Landworks Studio team as intern for Spring and Summer of 2018. Born and raised in suburban West Des Moines, Iowa, Weikert is a senior pursuing his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Iowa State University with a Minor in Horticulture. Joel brings a well-rounded skill set and eagerness to grow as a designer and person to our firm.

Having previous intern experience in the design-build and construction field, Joel looks to move his focus to the public realm to create meaningful places that improve quality of life for the general public. To him, this is how he can positively influence others in the surrounding communities he now calls home.

Joel’s travels have taken his across much of the rural Midwest, and throughout the entirety of the Mississippi River: from Minneapolis, St. Louis, Memphis, New Orleans and many places in-between. When not at the Landworks Studio office, Joel can be found hiking, playing basketball, and wandering Kansas City for the best ice-cream cone in town!
