Last week LWS participated in Food Truck Mania in downtown Olathe. The team dusted off their folding chairs, rinsed out their coolers,  and set up a few lawn games on the Johnson County Courthouse Courtyard. We were so thrilled to see so many people out enjoying the day! The Olathe Convention and Visitors Bureau reported that the food truck rally drew over 1500 people to downtown Olathe.

This event got us thinking about the power of programming. For those of you who don’t know what programming is, in short it's how spaces are used. For example some of our favorite programming for our recent Meadowbrook Park project include senior exercise, youth exploration/play, exercise trails, and a great lawn for picnics and lounging. As a team of landscape architects and designers we want to help create places that are well loved and well used. Programming is a huge component of this.  We were so excited to see so many people enjoying the programming in downtown Olathe and we can’t wait for the next great event.
