What’s New: An Update on Meadowbrook Park

Spring is here, and all of us at Landworks Studio are enjoying the warming temperatures and outdoor opportunities they provide. This is especially true for the progress and anticipated opening of Meadowbrook Park.

The construction crews have been working diligently through the winter to put the final touches on the appropriately named “Meadowbrook Park Activity Building” and are now directing their attention on the opening of the northern portions of the park. While these sections are expected to open in late spring this year, you may not realize the southern trails, ponds, and bridges are open and accessible for use.

We are excited to see the exercise equipment and surfacing for the Senior Wellness area has been installed and picnic tables are being placed in the shelter just south of the area. The “Grove Play Area” will be the next portion to be completed, along with Meadowbrook’s multi-season bathrooms, as well as a wood burning fire pit, open green spaces and a large rock-climbing boulder.

The largest of the play areas will be the themed, destination playground located in the northeast corner of the park just south of the new Grand Pavilion and southwest of the Activity Building. Access to this playground will be highly controlled and not opened to the public, until the official ribbon cutting. However, travelers along Nall should begin seeing large support structures taking shape, as crews are working hard to ensure kids will be swinging and running on the new playground by early summer.
