The Ripple Effect - 2024 in Review
Landworks Studio's logo is a representation of the impact Landscape Architecture has on the build environment and the people who live in each community. Regardless of scale, in parks, neighborhoods, communities, cities, regions, and around the world, Landscape Architects and Planners are bringing positive change for people, the economy, and the environment. Our work creates a Ripple Effect that expands far beyond our reach.
Introduction
As we reflect on 2024, we are once again thankful for the clients and communities who invited us into their projects and their lives to collaborate and create. Together, we made positive impacts on people (and their pets), the environment and local economies through the planning and development of outdoor spaces around the region.
We like sharing highlights of a few experiences and proud moments from 2024. Without you, our accomplishments would not be possible so it is our hope you see yourself in some of the work and writings. If not, we look forward to including you in next year’s highlights as we continue to expand our reach and impact throughout the Midwest. Feel free to reach out to us through a phone call, email, our social media outlets or just drop by our studio for a visit. We look forward to making more meaningful connections!
2024 Highlights
With a continued focus on growth and development to bring a deep and rich design perspective to our clients, our team completed 12 months of intentional activities. Each was designed to hone our skills, expand our knowledge and creativity, and learn about our community and each other. From our sketch crawl in downtown Overland Park, PlantRight’s Farm Tour and a trip to the Negro Baseball Hall of Fame and the Truman Library, we have grown. This year has yielded us tremendous diversity in project types, scope and clients. From intimate work like the iconic Campanile at the University of Kansas to the completion of our award-winning community-focused Kansas City Park and Recreation Master Plan, we have excelled delivering quality results to our clients. This park master plan was awarded by the American Planning Association Missouri Chapter the 2024 Outstanding Plan Award.
Additionally, our team selected a couple of organizations we felt personally called to assist. Ruby Jean’s Juicery and Lutheran High School had needs our talents could fulfill, as we designed some great spaces for community to gather. And personal growth is happening right alongside our collective growth. Nathan Harrell received his AICP certification this year and our studio continues to support Cody and Erin in their pursuit of landscape architecture licensure. Future leadership is critical to keep our legacy going!
