POSITION SUMMARY: A professional passionate about landscape architecture, the environment, and creating positive impacts on communities across the region. Must possess drive and excellent communication skills.
WHO WE ARE: Located in growing downtown Olathe, Landworks Studio is a woman-owned, landscape architecture + planning firm founded over 20 years ago. Our office currently has 6 full-time staff members who work in a very collaborative, studio environment. We work on projects ranging from city-wide master plans to parks to public safety campuses to splash pads. Over the years, we’ve designed a variety of places across the metro and beyond. Locally, you may have seen our work at Meadowbrook Park, KC Pet Project or the MLK Playground. While every endeavor is unique, our fundamental goals to elevate the users’ experience and provide opportunities for lasting memories, are always present.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Strong work ethic and desire to produce quality work within a team environment
- Manage a project from the proposal through construction administration at a variety of scales and budgets
- Possess the skills necessary to procure new clients or develop new client relationships
- Participate in design charrettes to contribute to an overall design direction
- Contribute design ideas and concepts using a variety of communication tools in a team environment
- Develop progress sets and completed construction documents and specifications from conceptual hand-drawn sketches and scans
- Accurately provide cost estimates for projects from the beginning stages of a project through bidding
- Manage production tasks in an efficient and effective manner
- Proficient with MS Office, AutoCad, SketchUp, Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign software
- Be part of a team to achieve far greater things than one can alone
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Degree in Landscape Architecture
- 5-10 years of relevant experience
SKILLS:
- Must be proficient in English
- Two or more languages is a plus
- Excellent communicator both verbally and in writing
- Strong skills in construction documentation, specification writing, and cost estimating
- Must be able to manage current clients and develop relationships with potential clients
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Adobe Creative Suite
- AutoCad (preferred not required)
- SketchUp and Lumion (preferred not required)
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- PLA, Must possess a valid driver’s license
