KC Southern Railroad Overpass Design

Landworks Studio worked closely with engineers and City staff to develop an iconic feature for the City of Grandview.  This new overpass will convey existing KS Southern Railroad traffic but is also designed for expansion of the region’s multi-modal light rail system.  The lanterns are a reflection of the truss-style bridges prevalent in the railroad system.  The colors and materials for the pillars were selected to complement other features planned throughout the community.  This new bridge project also provides the opportunity to allow another connection to the city’s trail system
