We were asked to partner with Kaw Valley Engineering and Pedulum Studio to create a landscape plan for a new multi-family structure at 55th and Troost. This is one of the newest developments along the Troost corridor, following many new shops and small business moving into exisitng retail spaces. This development is located just South of both Rockhurst University and UMKC, providing students with a choice for apartments in a mainly single-family area. The landscaping around the structure focused on adding some much needed greenery along the sidewalk both in front, and the back of the building, creating an enhanced pedestrian experience for residents and people passing by. A courtyard was also designed in the alley that leads to the back of the building, allowing for easy access to the parking lot and can be used as a small communal space.
