Landworks Studio was asked to provide design services for a Celebration Garden for cancer patients and their families near the facility in Overland Park, KS.  The garden itself symbolizes the journey a patient experiences through diagnosis, treatment and recovery.  A fountain in the center of the spiral provides a symbol for the end of the journey for either the patient or their family members. The design provides privacy and protection from the elements with larger tree canopies and vertical panels.  Interest throughout the year was achieved with a variety of plant materials including perennials.  Plants to attract butterflies was incorporated for the added symbolism of new life.
