Landworks Studio was selected by the City of Kansas City, MO to design a signature gateway fountain celebrating Francois Chouteau and his foundational role in the city’s history. From the beginning, the vision extended beyond a typical streetside feature - our goal was to create an interactive, educational, and engaging experience for both pedestrians and drivers.
Collaborating closely with artist Kwan Wu, the design integrates public art, interpretive elements, and thoughtful landscape architecture to elevate the Northland’s civic identity. Landworks Studio led the project from site selection through design development, including fundraising support materials such as graphics and a promotional video, delivering a landmark destination that exceeded community expectations.
