Gillham Park, a linear park in midtown Kansas City, was due for an update when its fill-and-drain wading pool became too costly for the city to maintain. Landworks Studio was selected to transform the space into a community splashpad - adding a range of interactive water features alongside a nearby playground. The new design includes overhead spray bars, a toddler spray area, a shade structure, and a synthetic turf berm for picnicking, creating a vibrant spot for children and families to gather and cool off during the warm months. The splashpad opened in the summer of 2018 and quickly became a neighborhood favorite.
