Landworks Studio was part of the design team that helped create this clinic that provides specialty services to an aging population in the center of Kansas City, Missouri. We worked with the architect and owner from the initial site selection through construction administration. Services included landscape design irrigation design and assisting with zoning and permit approvals. PACE or Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly is a Medicare and Medicaid program which helps the elderly meet their healthcare needs while still independent and at home as opposed to in a nursing care environment. Special attention was paid to creating a site which facilitated time outdoors in a natural environment. Landworks worked with its architecture and civil partners to design a small walking path, seating area, and dining space that could be used by patients and staff alike. The space is planted with native trees, shrubs, and perennials and also provides space for seasonal gardening in raised beds.
